Miriam takes on the first Royal Parks Half Marathon
The loss of her father, Howard Rosenthal, to cholangiocarcinoma at the early age of 57, spurred on
Miriam Rich to raise money specifically for research into this disease and after Professor Simon Taylor-Robinson
at Imperial College put her in touch with AMMF, Miriam decided to run for the charity.
Freely admitting she is not a natural athlete, Miriam trained with dedication and determination and when
12th October came round, she was ready. The scenery through the parks was great, but Miriam had little time
to enjoy it and initially found the going tough – her heart sank when at mile 3 she was overtaken by a giant badger! However, the training paid off and she completed the course in 2:14, a brilliant effort.
Miriam commented, “It was a great experience, but the best part was knowing that I was raising money for something which could potentially make a difference to someone like my Dad in the future.”
Many thanks go to Miriam for undertaking this challenge, and to all her family and friends who supported her enabling her to raise a superb amount of sponsorship for the charity. |
